South Shore Arts Preview
Joe and the family would like to thank all of you who visited the exhibit and especially thank Linda for the beautiful and creative story of one life changing incident that can strengthen or destroy.
When one views the beauty that can be expressed, even in tragedy, it truly gives us hope!

This preview doesn't begin to give justice to the quality of work created by Linda.
My hope is to spark your interest.  Let me encourage you to take the time to visit this exibit and first hand view it; experience it at the gallery.  The placements of the individual pieces in the atmosphere of the gallery so magnify the message Linda hoped to portray.  Life-changing experiences have touched almost all of us in some way or another.  As you walk through this exibit, view the pieces, see the detail, the color, it will touch your heart and soul.

Knowing Joe

This body of work is about the effects of life-altering change.  The inspiration for the subject matter came from the Nimetz family of Wheatfield, Indiana, whose lives were forever changed following a car accident four years ago.  The accident left Joe Nimetz with a brain injury and living in a semiconscious state.  His parents, Larry & Debbie Nimetz, face the difficult task of advocating and caring for him; while his brother, Jake Nimetz, must deal with the loss of the relationship with his brother and best friend.

Linda Eyermann spent time with Joe, interviewed his family and friends and recorded her impressions in a journal.  The artwork tells a story of those whose lives Joe has touched.  Each piece represents a family member or situation, and conceptualizes the emotions that accompany such a monumental loss--strength, courage, pain, frustration, sadness, faith and hope.

"I hope my work enables others to examine or think about their own lives and the inevitable changes or possibly life-altering experiences that occur.  For me, knowing Joe has become a life-altering experience," states artist Linda Eyermann.
